Lucille Ball’s Favorite Things
Lucille Ball might have been a screwball, but she was much more than just a funny redhead. Lucille Ball was known to be intelligent, at times serious, and a comedic genius. And we love her for all of those things. She was the perfect combination of beauty and brilliance!
We aren't alone. In the book Desilu: The Story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Desi said spoke of the cast of I Love Lucy, saying: "Lucy was the show. Viv, Fred and I were just props. Damn good props, but props nevertheless. P.S. I Love Lucy was never just the title."
Gives me goosebumps just thinking about the kind of affection Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz shared.
I Love Lucy inspired so many of us, cheered up a dreary day, and let's face it -- if it hadn't been made, the world would seem a little less bright. It's something to think about, especially when taken in the context of the heartbreaking but beautiful story behind its creation. Maybe some things are just meant to be.

The other day, my husband randomly asked me, “Is Doris Day still alive?” As many of you know, we lost Doris last year, May 13, 2019. She lived a long full life, though. She was 97 years old, and in those 97 years, Doris work embodied that of the All-American girl. Her legendary career included numerous hit singles, many classic movies, The Doris Day Show, and her passionate advocacy for animals.
