Information Collection & Use

I do not share personal information with third-parties nor do I store information collected about your visit to SheWoreStars for use other than to analyze content performance through the use of cookies, which you can turn off at anytime by modifying your Internet browser’s settings.

I am not responsible for the privacy policies of other sites that I may link to.

Information you voluntarily provide to us: When you sign up for and use the Services, send an email, post on the She Wore Stars blog, subscribe to the newsletter or for free printables, etc., you are voluntarily giving She Wore Stars information that we collect. That information may include either your or your Subscribers’ name, physical address, email address, IP address, phone number, credit card information, as well as details including gender, occupation, location, purchase history, and other demographic information. By giving us this information, you consent to this information being collected, used, disclosed, transferred to the United States and stored by us, as described in our Terms of Use and in this Privacy Policy.

We may use and disclose Personal Information only for the following purposes:

(a) To promote use of our services to you. For example, if you leave your Personal Information when you visit our Website and do not sign up for any of the Services, we may send you an email inviting you to sign up. If you use any of our Services and we think you might benefit from using another Service we offer, we may send you an email about that. You can stop receiving our promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email we send. In addition, we may use information we collect in order to advertise our Services to you or suggest additional features of our Services that you might consider using.

(b) To send you informational and promotional content that you may choose (or “opt in”) to receive. You can stop receiving our promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email.

(c) To bill and collect money owed to us by our Members. This includes sending you emails, invoices, receipts, notices of delinquency, and alerting you if we need a different credit card number.

(d) To send you System Alert messages. For example, we may inform you of temporary or permanent changes to our Services, such as planned outages, new features, version updates, releases, abuse warnings, and changes to our Privacy Policy.

(e) To communicate with our Members about their account and provide customer support.

(f) To enforce compliance with our Terms of Use and applicable law.

(g) To protect the rights and safety of our Members and third parties, as well as our own.

(h) To meet legal requirements, including complying with court orders, valid discovery requests, valid subpoenas, and other appropriate legal mechanisms.

(i) To provide information to representatives and advisors, including attorneys and accountants, to help us comply with legal, accounting, or security requirements.

(j) To prosecute and defend a court, arbitration, or similar legal proceeding.

(k) To respond to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

(l) To provide, support, and improve the Services we offer. This includes our use of the data that our Members provide us in order to enable our Members to use the Services to communicate with their Subscribers. This also includes, for example, aggregating information from your use of the Services or visit to our Websites and sharing this information with third parties to improve our Services. This might also include sharing your information or the information you provide us about your Subscribers with third parties in order to provide and support our Services or to make certain features of the Services available to you. When we do have to share Personal Information with third parties, we take steps to protect your information by requiring these third parties to enter into a contract with us that requires them to use the Personal Information we transfer to them in a manner that is consistent with this policy.

(m) To provide suggestions to you. This includes adding features that compare Members’ email campaigns, using data to suggest other publishers your Subscribers may be interested in, or using data to suggest products or services that you may be interested in or that may be relevant to you or your Subscribers.

(n) To transfer your information in the case of a sale, merger, consolidation, liquidation, reorganization, or acquisition. In that event, any acquirer will be subject to our obligations under this Privacy Policy, including your rights to access and choice. We will notify you of the change either by sending you an email or posting a notice on our Website.

Third Party Collection of Data: This site's web pages display some content and/or advertising which is directly served or delivered by third parties. These advertisements are delivered through script code in this site's HTML web pages, which cause your computer to request the advertising information from the third party's server. These third parties usually deliver a cookie to your computer, and log your request activity in their log files.

Third Party Web Site Destinations: This web site includes thousands of "web links" to other web sites operated by many other individuals, companies, and organizations. Almost all of those sites use cookies and log files to track your activity, and some may also utilize other strategies to track and monitor your use of their web sites. Some of the links to external web sites pass through intermediaries, which also track your click, store a cookie, and transfer your request to another web server. These intermediaries (and their cookies) are later checked if you make a purchase at the third party destination web site, and if so, the intermediary stores information about that transaction so that the third parties can account and pay us an advertising fee in exchange for directing customers to their web sites. Some merchants share aggregate purchase information with us; for example, they may report the specific items that were purchased by consumers that were referred from this web site; we use this information when updating this web site's content and advertising. However, these third-party merchants do not share any personal identifying information with us.

Choice/Opt-out

You may choose to block the collection of some information by our advertisers, by configuring your web browser to refuse to accept or return "cookies," or by utilizing third-party "Internet Security" software which may block some third-party advertising and some trackable links to third-party web sites. If you use this technology, you will not see some relevant content seen by other visitors to this web site, because your software will edit, delete, or alter the content as it is loaded into your computer.

About Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. Some third-party advertisements are displayed at this site and when you click on external web links, persistent cookies are used by those third-party sites (and some aggregate data made possible by use of those persistent cookies is used by this owner of this web site.) You can configure your web browser to block any "third-party cookies," or to block all cookies (but by doing so, you will likely be unable to use certain features on other web sites). You can remove persistent cookies by using utility software or by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. Third-party web sites may also track and cross-match your cookie and "clickstream" data with other data you disclose to those third party web sites (for example, Amazon.com stores information about the pages you view and the products you buy, to suggest other related merchandise which may interest you).

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)

This site does not directly utilize (but advertisers may utilize) a software technology called clear gifs (sometimes called "web beacons" or "web bugs"). Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive (where users can view them, though not easily), clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are smaller than the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Advertisers may tie the information gathered by clear gifs to any personally identifiable information which they have obtained. You may be able to block this technology by using third-party "Internet Security" software.

Legal Disclaimers

We reserve the right to disclose any information in our "log files," as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.(Since we don't gather any personal identifying information about you, we can't inform you if this occurs.)

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect any information gathered in our "log files," we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

In the event that this web site goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, the information collected by this web site will likely be among the assets transferred.

Changes in this Privacy Statement

If this site decides to change its privacy policy, those changes will be posted to this privacy statement and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently.
